It feels like forever since I posted but it's really only been a few days. So much has crossed my path in the past week and there are a million things I want to talk to you about. I'm going to try to stick to one topic a day though. Kinda hard for a gemini communicator but there you have it. I'll take one for the team.
Has anyone noticed how everyone wants to be a healer? People awaken and they feel this incredible urge to give back to humanity. So we suddenly have thousands of people learning Reiki or other healing modalities, signing up for courses left, right and centre.
Has it occurred to you though, that healing comes in many shapes and forms? Not all of us are gifted with physical healing abilities.
During the past week as I've waded through dealing with my mother's death this fact has been brought home to me countless times. So I'll give you examples...
My sister is a gifted healer. Her gift is inherited and she has tapped into it through further study and practice. During the past week she has stood by my side and offered me endless support. She has jumped in with practical help but never interfered. Her gift is not just in healing but in knowing when healing is required.
My partner is not a healer but has held me close and offered comfort. He has made sure I haven't had to lift a finger except to focus on what needed to be done. He has gone out of his way to make sure I know I am loved and cared for and to put a smile on my face.
My son, true to form, has shown incredible strength and reliability. He has arrived here for the funeral and behaved exactly as he always does, offering me consistency in turmoil. He is not scared to get his hands dirty and helps with many practical things.
My mother in law has been her usual generous and practical self and jumped in to help with providing food at the funeral and a laugh in between.
The receptionist at the funeral home has shown such incredible compassion and taken care of a bunch of crappy details that I didn't have the strength for.
The executor of the estate has taken everything in hand and shown me that I can have every confidence in not having to handle things myself while knowing that they will be taken care of.
My point here is that every single person is contributing to my own healing in ways that they possibly don't even realise.
Picasso talked about spending your life finding your gift and then giving your life meaning by giving your gift away. This is something I've seen in the past week especially. No gift is more valuable than another. A gift's value is in using it to help others.
So I'd like to ask you today what you have done to find your gifts. Have you connected with the spark in your soul? Have you allowed your gifts to bloom and bear fruit? Or are you chasing gifts that might not be yours because it's what you think the world needs most?
We're all pieces of a puzzle. We all have our place in the grand scheme of things and if you're trying to copy the shape of another piece then the puzzle will be incomplete. Find your shape and watch as the world around you suddenly starts to fit with you and bring you all you need in order to fulfil your own destiny.
